Yelvertoft Fishery, Yelvertoft
Brian Faulkner confined to a wheelchair created the 12-peg lake in 1992
and it is the only lake of its kind in the county which was designed and built
specifically with disabled anglers in mind. All the pegs and access to them
can be made by both wheelchair bound and visually impaired anglers alike
as there is a flat and level concrete path which encircles the whole lake
and leads to each 9 x 8-foot wide timber fishing bay. Another advantage is
that the ample car park is visible from each peg, to enable anglers to keep
an eye on their vehicles. The fishery and nature reserve is administered
by the Brian Faulkner Charitable Foundation, a registered charity.
Access is via Tarry’s End off Elkington Road.

Day ticket £5, concessions £4 for walking disabled and OAPs,
blind and wheelchair anglers £3.
Carp, tench, roach, chub, dace, perch and gudgeon.
Open all year.
Groundbait is allowed in feeders. Barbless hooks only. Maximum size hook
allowed is 12. Open hours are 6am – 9pm.

Yoke Hill Farm Fishery, Upper Benefield
Four lakes, Horseshoe, Figure of Eight, Wilfreds weir specimen pool, Silver
fish lake.
From Corby take the A427 towards Oundle, drive through Weldon and Rockingham.
A further two miles at the top of the hill is the fishery entrance, which
is signposted on the right hand side.

Figure of Eight Barbel to 1lb, bream, carp over 1lb, chub, crucian carp,
golden orfe to 1lb, roach, rudd and tench to 3lbs. Horseshoe Lake Carp to
2lbs, roach, rudd and tench over 1lb. Wilfreds Weir Barbel, blue orfe, carp,
chub, golden orfe, roach and tench.
All year fishing. No night fishing. Barbless hooks only. Keepnets are only
allowed on Figure of Eight Lake as long as dipped prior to fishing. No fish
over 2lbs in keepnets.
No boilies. No floating baits and bread. Groundbait can only be cupped
in. Fishery pellets only allowed.
Large car park, tackle shop, food and toilet facilities. Access for disabled.
